Brodala Gård Has a heritage back to the 18:th century. In the end of the 18:th century until 1810 the owner was a Member of the Parliament. His father was a hunter at the old castel Glimmingehus. Måns Persson built the current farmhouse in 1849. In 1969 the then current owner sold the fields and kept the houses. They where modernized and got the shape they have today.

In Old days, the village Östra Tommarp was the major city in the eastern part of Scania. Founded already in the 10:th century, then called Thumatorp. It may allthough be a myth that Thumatorp was besieged and looted by the viking king Sigurd Jorsalafar who sailed up the river with 16 ship! Thumatorp existed as a town until 1547. Then it was a part of the mighty Danish kingdom that also included southern part of England. In Thumatorp there was a coin factory

Cpoins made in Thumatorp by the danish king Svend Estridsen (1047-1074)

In the Thumatorp monastery of the Premonstratensian Order , active between 1155-1536, they also had a lepra hospital. You can today just see a few bricks and pillars from the monastery. Brodala Gård Is partly located on a ground piece thatr is marked as "archeologic area".
